But the right-hander arrived in Tampa with a lower arm slot that he hoped would help with his recovery. Burdi felt strong all spring, yet there still was some curiosity to see how it would play once everyone left the low-pressure environs of the Grapefruit League — not just his stuff against big leaguers but his ability to bounce back physically from higher-stress and more frequent outings.
