Baseball’s best rivalry is back on in a big way.

For the first time since 2021, the New York Yankees are facing the Boston Red Sox are in the postseason.

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 30, the AL East foes will meet in the best-of-three Wild Card round of the MLB playoffs. All three games will take place at the Bronx’s Yankee Stadium and are slated to go down:

Game One
Tuesday, Sept. 30

Max Fried (19-5, 2.86 ERA) vs. Garrett Crochet (18-5, 2.59 ERA)

Game Two
Wednesday, Oct. 1

Game Three

If you’d like to be there to see Aaron Judge’s Bronx Bombers take on Garrett Crochet’s Sawx, last-minute tickets are available for all three high-stakes showdowns.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets for any one game was $92 including fees on Vivid Seats.

Other games have inventory starting anywhere from $97 to $113 including fees.

Over the course of the 2025 regular season, the 94-68 Yankees met the 89-73 Red Sox a whopping 13 times. And, even though, Aaron Boone’s squad had a five-game advantage over Alex Cora’s club in the standings, Boston had New York’s number and went 9-4 over the stacked, reigning AL champions.

Still, MVP candidate Judge and the Yanks are going into this series with a sense of optimism.

“We’ve got a rowdy crowd out there, a rowdy group that’s been behind us all year long,” Judge, 33, said. “Even in our tough times in the summer, they were still showing out in numbers, supporting us. They’re definitely going to be excited for a Yankees-Red Sox postseason matchup, that’s for sure.”

All we know is the best way to witness the game’s best rivalry is live from the stands.
