For once, the Toronto Blue Jays are breathing easy.
On Wednesday, Oct. 8, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s gutsy ball club handily defeated Aaron Judge’s defending American League champion New York Yankees by a score of 5-2 in the fourth game of the ALDS.
“Start spreading the news, b****es,” manager John Schneider said, while guilelessly spraying champagne and celebrating the win in the locker room after the final out.
The scrappy team — who sported the AL’s best record in 2025 by going 94-68 — now advances to the American League Championship Series against the winner of the tense Seattle Mariners/Detroit Tigers dogfight, which concludes with a decisive game five on Friday, Oct. 10.
However, thanks to the Jays’ superior regular season standing, they’ve officially clinched home field advantage through the ALCS. Therefore, we now know the dates they’ll be at their Rogers Centre. They are:
Game One
Sunday, Oct. 12
Game Two
Monday, Oct. 13
Game Six
Sunday, Oct. 19
Game Seven
Monday, Oct. 20
If you’d like to be there to hopefully root for the Jays, tickets are available for all hypothetical contests in Toronto.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats for any one game was $281 USD including fees on Vivid Seats.
Other showdowns have tickets starting anywhere from $328 to $439 USD including fees.
These high-stakes matchups will be the the first ALCS games in Toronto since 2016. That year, All-Stars Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnación, Marco Estrada and Michael Saunders helped the stacked roster finish 89-73, win the Wild Card round against the Orioles and take down the Rangers in the ALDS before falling to Cleveland in the ALCS.
Before that, the club last advanced to the World Series in 1992 and ’93, when they won back-to-back titles.
This time around, Schneider’s club is led by first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., shortstop Bo Bichette, catcher Alejandro Kirk, center fielder George Springer and ace Kevin Gausman.
“I could tell from day one in Spring Training that we had a really good group and a group that had a lot of pieces,” closer Jeff Hoffman said. “It was just a matter of putting pieces in the right positions.”
Now, four wins separate them from their first Fall Classic berth in 32 years.
October baseball is in full effect.
