The road to the repeat begins now.
On Saturday, Aug. 30, Jeremiah Smith and the Ohio State Buckeyes begin their 2025 regular season against Arch Manning’s Texas Longhorns at Columbus’ Ohio Stadium.
This highly-anticipated game — also sophomore QB Julian Sayin’s first start — will certainly grab quite a bit of national attention since the Longhorns have captured the Associated Press No. 1 ranking ahead of the season while the defending champion Buckeyes sit at No. 3.
“Just win,” head coach Ryan Day said during a press conference on Tuesday. “Find a way to win.”
After that barnburner showdown, which Ohio State is projected to win (!), Day’s club has a number of exciting contests lined up in the next few months on their path to the College Football Playoff.
Notable matchups include head-to-head home game battles against their interstate adversary Ohio Bobcats (Sept. 13), Minnesota Golden Gophers (Oct. 4) and No. 2-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions (Nov. 1).
Per usual, the season will end with “the game” against their forever rivals Michigan Wolverines. This year, Ohioans will have to cross state lines to catch the Nov. 29 bloodbath at Ann Arbor’s Michigan Stadium.
If you want to be in the stands to see the reigning champs attempt to repeat for the first time in the university’s history, tickets are available for all 2025 Ohio State Buckeyes games.
At the time of publication, the lowest price on tickets for any one home game was $42 including fees on Vivid Seats.
Road contests have seats going for as low as $58 including fees.

There is no shortage of ways to watch Buckeyes games live from the comfort of your own home next season.
You’ll likely find Day’s squad on the Big Ten Network, FOX and CBS on select dates.
Although Ohio State won it all last season, the team faces a few setbacks going into 2025.
Star quarterback Will Howard was drafted by the Steelers, which means Julian Sayin will finally get his moment in the sun. The sophomore appeared in four games in 2024 and threw a single TD pass.
While Sayin has big shoes to fill, he’ll have star wideout Jeremiah Smith left over from this year’s squad to help him out.
Still, the team isn’t projected to repeat, according to The NY Post. They have +600 odds of taking home the CFP National Championship Trophy in January 2026. Fingers crossed.
