Saquon Barkley and the Birds are back and ready to fly.
After a long offseason debating the now sponsored tush push, the Philadelphia Eagles will begin their march toward a second consecutive Super Bowl at their home Lincoln Financial Field against Dak Prescott’s visiting Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Or as the Eagles put it on Instagram, “the best rivalry in football.”
After that high-profile, high-stakes week one bloodbath, Sirianni’s squad has a number of huge games at Lincoln Financial Field lined up.
Just a few of the most notable include showdowns with Matthew Stafford’s Los Angeles Rams (Sept. 21), Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions (Nov. 2) and Jayden Daniels’ Washington Commanders.
And, although the team will be without Darius Slay Jr., Josh Sweat, Milton Willians, Mekhi Becton, CJ Gardner-Johnson, Kenneth Gainwell, Oren Burks, the recently-retired Brandon Graham and a few others key players from last year’s championship campaign, Sirianni is still optimistic about 2025.
“When you’re in a program that has been successful, what you notice about the guys that have been waiting for their opportunity to play…there’s just hunger and so I’m excited about the new faces that are going to be able to contribute and get their opportunity to do some things with the loss of some of these guys,” the 44-year-old head coach said, according to the Eagles.
