After we finished watching the first season of Seth Rogen’s pitch-perfect satirical comedy The Studio, we started streaming Owen Wilson’s superb golf dramedy Stick. We’re also enjoying new episodes of Bob’s Burgers on Fox and Hulu, the second season of Natasha Lyonne’s crime dramedy Poker Face on Peacock (no lie detected), and a bevy of true crime documentaries on Netflix (Cold Case: The Tylenol Murders, Trainwreck: Mayor of Mayhem, and Titan: The Oceangate Submersible Disaster).

Based on Chris Hammer’s bestselling Scrublands sequel Silver, Season 2 picks up a year after the events of the first season. Per AMC, “Award-winning investigative journalist Martin Scarsden (Arnold) returns to his coastal hometown, Port Silver, WA, to start a new chapter with his partner, Mandy Bond (Heathcote). But his plans begin to unravel when he discovers his childhood friend, Jasper, brutally murdered — and Mandy accused as the prime suspect.”

There’s no official information about a potential third season of Scrublands, but there is reason for optimism. The first season was based on Chris Hammer’s debut crime novel Scrublands, while the second season was based on Hammer’s Martin Scarsden book Silver.
Hammer has also released a third Martin Scarsden thriller, Trust, so it’s possible that a potential Season 3 could be based on the author’s third Scarsden novel.
