FX‘s new sci-fi thriller Alien: Earth is only a few hours away from landing on our screens. Created by Noah Hawley, the series imagines what would happen if a Weyland-Yutani deep space research vessel crashed on earth, unleashing Xenomorphs and four other mysterious aliens onto our planet. It’s a terrifying, yet terribly fun, new chapter in the Alien franchise, but how big is it as a chapter? How many episodes are in the first season of Alien: Earth?
In Alien: Earth, the world is controlled by five corporations. One of them, Weyland-Yutani has made it their mission to probe the universe for unique alien specimens. Meanwhile, a rival company, Prodigy, is about to unveil the latest step forward in human “evolution.” Prodigy head Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin) has figured out how to transfer a person’s consciousness into a super-powered synthetic form. The only hiccup is these new “hybrids” can so far only accommodate the minds of children, like Wendy (Sydney Chandler). When that Weyland-Yutani ship crashes into Prodigy land, Wendy leads a mission to find her human brother, Hermit (Alex Lawther), who is among the people in danger.
