Morgan Wade underwent a preventative double mastectomy one month ago — and Kyle Richards helped facilitate the surgery.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star told People that she’s worked with nonprofit Mission Plasticos, an organization dedicated to providing no-cost reconstructive surgical care to people who are uninsured or underinsured, for years and connected Wade with the group.
“Breast cancer has impacted my family, and I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate the healthcare system, the procedures it can entail, the emotional and physical ramifications it can have,” shared Richards, whose mother died from breast cancer in 2002.
“When Morgan told me what she was dealing with in terms of her health, I knew Mission Plasticos would be an incredible resource.”
Without financial assistance, a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery could cost a patient about $100,000, according to Susan Williamson, executive director of Mission Plasticos.
Photos also show Richards, 54, and Wade, 29, at the hospital with a film crew and Wade’s mother, Robin, because the reality star is making a documentary about the “Wilder Days” singer’s mastectomy journey.

Wade said she’s through the worst of the pain but is still acclimating to her new body, which doesn’t yet have nipples. (She has the option of getting 3D nipples or tattooing nipples onto her implants down the line if she so chooses, People noted.).
“I’m still processing how different my body looks in that regard,” she shared. “As tough as it is to look in the mirror right now for me… [the scars will] heal up and it’ll be good.”
The “Run” singer shared on Instagram Nov. 21 that she had finally left her room but still had drains in her body.
“Was hoping to get my drains out – but gotta wait another week. Baby steps right now, but very grateful for the wonderful folks taking care of me ❤️,” she captioned a photo of herself sitting in a chair with a massive blanket on her lap.
These days, Richards has been vacationing at a luxe resort in Mexico with best friend Faye Resnick to “escape reality.”
