Let’s go lesbians: Honey Don’t, the new Margaret Qualley lesbian detective movie, is coming to digital platforms to buy and rent tomorrow.

Directed by Ethan Coen, who also co-wrote the screenplay with his wife Tricia Cooke, Honey Don’t! is the second installment in what Coen and Cooke are calling their “lesbian B-movie trilogy,” following last year’s Drive-Away Dolls. (That said, Coen also clarified to The Hollywood Reporter that there are “no definite plans to do a third movie,” but we can hope.)

Qualley stars as a private detective named Honey O’Donahue, working to solve a murder case that involves a religious cult. Also on the case is MG Falcone (Aubrey Plaza), a police officer who feels a spark with Honey. And Chris Evans co-stars as Reverend Drew Devlin, the cult leader himself.

Also starring Charlie Day, Kristen Connolly, Gabby Beans, Talia Ryder, and more, Honey Don’t! received mixed reviews from critics, and made only $5.8 million at the worldwide box office. Perhaps the movie will find its audience now that it’s available to watch online. But before you spend $25 to watch Honey Don’t at home, you should know we expect to see Honey Don’t streaming on Peacock before the end of the year.

Beginning on Tuesday, September 9 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also September 8 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time) Honey Don’t movie will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon PrimeApple TVFandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the film costs $24.99 to buy a digital copy, and $19.99 to rent. If you rent the movie, you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting “play.”

Honey Don’t is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but we do expect to see Honey Don’t streaming on Peacock soon.

Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $10.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $16.99/month.

You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads.

Peacock Premium Plus is also available to subscribe to via Prime Video with a seven-day free trial that you can’t get by subscribing directly on Peacock.

Honey Don’t‘s streaming release date on Peacock has not yet been announced, but we know that Honey Don’t movie will stream on Peacock eventually, because it is a Focus Features/Universal movie, and Peacock is the streaming service owned by Universal. All the new Universal theatrical movies end up streaming on Peacock, though the wait period has varied by title.

Another Focus Features movie, The Phoenician Schemebegan streaming on Peacock on July 25, which was about two after the movie opened in theaters, and about two weeks after the film released on digital.

If Honey Don’t follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie streaming on Peacock in little over one month, around mid-October 2025.

This is all speculation. Universal has not had a consistent streaming release strategy on Peacock. If you want to watch Honey Don’t right away, you can buy or rent it online.
