A home health aide was struck by a stray bullet as she walked with her elderly patient near a Brooklyn playground on Monday — in what police believe was a burst of gang-related gun violence, sources and witnesses said.

The 43-year-old woman, an innocent bystander, was hit in the right arm just before noon outside an apartment complex on Neptune Avenue near West 37th Street in Coney Island, authorities said.

She was taken to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, and was expected to recover, cops said.

The shots rang out as the unintended victim was out for a walk with the senior she cares for — a 96-year-old resident of the complex — by a nearby playground, according to a security guard at the building, who did not want to be identified.

The gunfire seemed to be the result of a clash that spilled over from a nearby housing project, the guard said.

“Four guys came out from the projects over there,” another building staffer told The Post. “And she was out walking with the man with his walker, and that’s when it hit her … It looked like she didn’t even know she got shot at first.”

Investigators are probing the shooting as gang-related, law enforcement sources said.

Four men ran off after the gunfire erupted, heading east on Neptune Avenue, cops said.

No arrests had been made hours later.
