Hoda Kotb is getting in on the friendship bracelet phenomenon. The trend, which was popularized by Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour, made its way to The Today Show when a fan offered her a handmade bracelet — only for Kotb to adorably return the favor with her own jewelry.

The fan — who wrote that she was “in tears” after Kotb gave her the bracelets off of her wrist — was in the audience for Olivia Rodrigo‘s performance. The singer gave a short concert in Rockefeller Plaza, where she sang a mix of tracks from her sophomore album “Guts,” which was released earlier today.

“I GAVE @hodakotb A FRIENDSHIP BRACELET AND SHE GOES ‘WAIT I HAVE TO GIVE YOU ONE NOW TOO RIGHT?’ AND RIPS HER GOLD AND SILVER BRACELETS OFF HER WRIST AND HANDS TO ME IM IN TEARSJEMMRR,” the fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, along with a photo of herself holding the shiny bangles.

In a follow-up post, she added, “Hoda was standing on the catwalk and looks at me and holds up her wrists and points to the bracelets and smiles my god plz protect this woman at all costs ????.”

Kotb — who clearly understood the assignment — later shared the fan’s original post to her own X page, writing, “Twinsies!”

Social media users were quick to praise Kotb, who frequently wears the bracelets she gave away on The Today Show. One posted, “HODA IS THE MOST UNSERIOUS PERSON EVER I LOVE HER,” while another wrote, “This is so fucking funny I’ve never loved a tv host more.”

Decider has reached out to reps for Kotb for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.

The sweet moment occurred as Rodrigo dazzled a whopping number of New York City fans with four of her songs — including  “Vampire” and “Get Him Back!” from her new album, and hits like “Good 4 You” and “Drivers License” from her debut album, “Sour.”

While speaking to Kotb and co-host Savannah Guthrie on the iconic stage, Rodrigo revealed that she had taken a college poetry class to help draw inspiration for her new album.

“I took a college class last year,” she said, per Today. “I was home-schooled my whole life, so I really wanted to have that kind of experience, and it definitely aided my songwriting a lot.”

The 20-year-old also dished about the pressures surrounding the release of “Guts” following the undeniable success of her first album.

“It was definitely super hard,” she said. “It was definitely a lot of pressure coming off the crazy success that ‘Sour’ had, but I think I just tried to write songs that I would like to hear on the radio. I didn’t try to beat anything or follow anything up. I just wanted to write songs that I loved.”
