Issa Rae joined Hoda Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager, and comedian Heather McMann on this morning’s episode of Today for a game of Sip & Spill, in which they dished on the celebrities they often get mistaken for.
While Rae admitted she used to get mistaken for Danielle Brooks — which she was not entirely mad about — Kotb revealed the surprising celebrity she often gets mixed up with by enthusiastic fans.
“Every single day, every single airport, who do you think I get mistaken for?” she asked her guests. After Rae incorrectly guessed Vanessa Williams, Kotb hinted, “I get mistaken for someone else who’s very lovely and works on a competing network.”
She meant none other than award-winning CBS anchor Gayle King, who is famously one of Oprah‘s closest industry friends.
“They’re like, ‘Hey girl, I love your best friend Oprah. Will you tell Oprah I said hi?'” Kotb said. “Now, I just say, ‘Okay, I love you.'”
The big reveal sparked laughter from Bush Hager and their co-hosts, who all admitted they could kind of see the resemblance.

“It’s racist, but I love that though, I see it,” Rae said, eliciting even more laughter.
Kotb and King may be two of the most recognizable journalists on television thanks to their decades-long careers on their respective networks, but the resemblance mostly ends there.
Bush Hager had her own surprising celebrity doppelgänger that she sometimes gets mistaken for — and it wasn’t her twin sister, Barbara Bush.
“I’ve gotten Brooke Hogan… Or somebody will be like, ‘Aren’t you some politician’s daughter?'” she said, earning more laughter from her co-host. “And I’m like, ‘Yeah, sure.'”
Of course, Bush Hager is famously the daughter of former POTUS George W. Bush, and granddaughter to former President George H.W. Bush.
Today with Jenna and Hoda airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
