Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager were having a frank discussion about motherhood on Today when Kotb made a rather concerning confession about her beloved minivan that even surprised her co-host.

Kotb had just revealed that she has been mistaken as her daughters’ grandmother before when she said, “As I tell my kids, some moms are older, some moms are younger, some are taller, some are shorter.”

Bush Hager then playfully added, “Some moms are tired, some moms are frazzled… Some moms want to crawl into the pantry and eat a string cheese. Some moms like to hide in the bathtub and lock the door hoping not to hear the sounds [of their kids’ footsteps]. I’m just kidding, most moms love their kids.”

Bush Hager’s joke made Kotb laugh. “No, we all do, but sometimes some moms want to sit in the minivan and say they’re about to go somewhere and not go anywhere and just sit in it,” Kotb remarked.

Bush Hager then asked Kotb if she’s ever cried in her minivan, which she confessed she has.

“Oh yeah, the minivan is like another house. You just go outside in it,” Kotb admitted with a laugh.

Bush Hager could certainly understand where Kotb was coming from – but she noted that Kotb’s obsession with her new minivan may be going too far.

“The minivan is a great refuge,” she responded. “When you start sleeping in the minivan, we’re gonna have a problem.”

The Today hosts have had some hilarious conversations about parenting and motherhood on the show. Kotb once shaded Bush Hager for watching a romantic comedy with her nine-year-old, prompting Bush Hager to announce that she was going to “corrupt” Kotb’s seven-year-old daughter.

“I am having her over and my kids are gonna corrupt her,” she told Kotb during a recent broadcast of Today.

The idea made even Kotb laugh as she remarked, “Honestly they might. She’ll come back with eyes as big as meatballs like, ‘What happened at Jenna’s house?’”
