What better way to end the work week than by passionately discussing email etiquette with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager?

The co-hosts shared a hilarious moment on Friday’s episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna when discussing the best and worst ways to sign off on an email. While they agreed “looking forward to hearing from you” is a “passive aggressive” way to end an email, they had strong feelings about “thanks!” being ranked as one of the worst ways to sign off.

“I love an exclamation point,” Bush Hager admitted.

“I do too, and for everybody who says you’re taking away the meaning, TOO BAD!” Kotb passionately replied. She then began to pretend she was typing up an email, saying, “‘Hi!!! How are you?!?!”

Kotb’s reaction made Bush Hager laugh as she responded, “I love a question mark, exclamation point! I love that combo!”

The co-hosts double high-fived and gushed over their love for the underutilized question mark, exclamation point. What a hot take!

Despite the sweet moment, Bush Hager later judged Kotb for her choice of email sign-off: cheers!

“I sometimes do ‘cheers,'” Kotb admitted.

“No you don’t! Why do you do that? That’s so unlike you,” Bush Hager replied. “I feel like cheers is the bro that buys a beer and wears a vest.”

There’s never a dull day with these two. Just yesterday, the co-hosts candidly spoke on the ways they got through “terrible” breakups when they were younger. The conversation led to some surprising admissions, including that Bush Hager almost got a Destiny’s Child tattoo and Kotb had a steamy affair with a police officer.

“That is HOT,” Bush Hager said after Kotb recounted how she met her former fling. “That’s a Colleen Hoover book, girl!”
