The Today crew is always down for a party! Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager got a chance to try Doritos-flavored margaritas at the top of Friday’s (Dec. 22) broadcast, and they had some mixed reactions.

Bush Hager was not happy to see a crew member come out with a tray of margaritas and shots of the Empirical x Doritos Nacho Cheese Vacuum Distilled Spirit. “

“Oh please, it’s Friday — we asked you to be careful with our guts!” she said.

When she noticed the shots of alcohol that were also on the tray, she asked, “Wait, is that also a shot of Dorito? A Dorito shot?”

Kotb swiftly shut that idea down. “No, no, we can’t,” she said. “I have a thing later, I can’t.”

Bush Hager also agreed, adding, “No, we’re not taking a shot.”

Though they didn’t take the shot, the Dorito-flavored margarita slowly grew on Bush Hager.

“Oh I get the Dorito! In the aftertaste, I feel the Dorito here. Shall I say I like it? It turns out Doritos are great in liquid form,” she said.

This isn’t the first time the Today hosts have refused a shot on the air. They were recently challenged to rank their kids from favorite to least favorite or take a shot on air, much like Seth Meyers‘ iconic Day Drinking segments.

Kotb said it was the question that “no parent wants to answer,” which proved to be true as both hosts refused to answer the question.

“Guess what, ya’ll? They already need therapy, we’re not gonna add to it,” Bush Hager said. She later joked that her favorite child is “whoever is nicest to me” that day.

“By the way, I honestly don’t feel like I have one. I feel like different days I have different ones, whoever is nicest to me,” she said. “Whoever is being nicer on that day is that. Don’t all parents love their kids the same and yet differently?”

They once again refused to take the shots of alcohol, saying they were “old enough for no peer pressure.”
