A driver fatally struck a 28-year-old Maryland man early Saturday morning — and was caught on camera peeling the victim’s body off his car’s windshield two miles away from the crash scene and taking off.

Police found Franklin Mendez on the side of the road with injuries just after 4:00 a.m., Prince George’s County Police Department said.

After checking doorbell cameras, neighbors discovered that the driver who hit Mendez stopped, got out of his car, and peeled the slain man’s body off his windshield, Fox 5 DC reported.

Police told the outlet that Mendez was involved in an unrelated minor collision two miles away before he was struck by the suspect.

Following the first accident, Mendez was struck by another car, police said.

Instead of stopping, the suspect continued driving with Mendez lodged in his windshield.

The hit-and-run driver proceeded to drive for two miles with Mendez on the front of his car before pulling over on Ardwick Ardmore Road to remove him.

The suspect drove off following the collision, leaving Mendez’s body on the side of the road.

The suspect then got back into his car and sped off, fleeing the scene and leaving Mendez’s body on the side of the road, police said.

Police say the suspect drove off in a gray Honda Civic with a large white decal splayed across the top of the back window.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the hit-and-run.

The suspect’s car will have damage to the passenger side front bumper, fender, and a hole in the windshield, police said, urging the public to come forward with any information about the suspect.

Mendez, who is from New Carrollton, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
