Heroes, zeros and the inside pitch from the Yankees’ 6-4 win over the Mets on Sunday afternoon in the Subway Series in Queens:

Cody Bellinger’s defensive versatility has been on display all year for the Yankees, never more so than on Sunday, when he made a shoestring catch of Juan Soto’s sinking liner in the bottom of the seventh and then made a strong throw to first base to double off Francisco Lindor, with the Yankees and Mark Leiter Jr. trying to protect a two-run lead.

Zach Pop, the latest temporary addition to the Mets’ ramshackle bullpen, had an ugly debut with his new team, giving up three runs — and five hits — in just 1 ⅓ innings, as the Mets weren’t able to complete a Subway Series sweep with a bullpen game.

Tim Hill entered with one on and two out in the bottom of the seventh and pitched 1 ⅓ scoreless innings to get the Yankees to the ninth, still up by a pair of runs, before Devin Willaims closed it for the save.

3-3: The two teams split the Subway Series during the regular season.

All the more reason for a rematch in October.

“Considering the context of this week and everything, that’s probably our play of the year so far.”

— Aaron Boone on Bellinger’s catch and throw that helped them end a six-game losing streak.
