Heros, zeros and the full blitz from the Jets’ loss to the Dolphins on Friday:
Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
He put away the game, which was already decided, with a 34-yard TD run with 3:35 remaining.
Dolphins receivers Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle kept the chains moving and made play after play on third downs.
Waddle finished with eight catches for 114 yards and Hill had nine catches for 102 yards and a TD.
The Jets’ top-rated secondary failed to keep either player in check.
Tim Boyle, the third-string quarterback who was making his first start with the Jets after replacing Zach Wilson, failed to provide the spark the team so desperately needed.
He finished 27 of 38 for 179 yards with one TD and two INTs and was sacked seven times, but those numbers were significantly padded by the final two possessions with the game already well out of reach.
Twenty-two Offensive plays the Jets ran through the first three quarters (to 60 run by Miami).
In addition, they had just two first downs entering the fourth quarter (to 18 for Miami).
“We’ll keep digging. We’ve got to keep preparing, got to keep coaching, got to keep playing. We’ve just to got keep trying to find ways to move the ball and score.’’
— Jets head coach Robert Saleh
