Though the playoffs began yesterday, October baseball starts today.

After Game 1 of the AL Wild Card, the Boston Red Sox are one game up over the New York Yankees.

Entering the seventh inning last night, the Yankees had a 1-0 lead and an ace-worthy performance by starter Max Fried, who was pulled after 117 pitches. Luke Weaver entered the game and allowed two runs.

A ninth-inning comeback seemed possible, as the Yankees ended the game with bases loaded, but in the end, Boston took Game 1, 3-1.

Yankees vs. Red Sox, game 1: what to know

If the Red Sox win tonight, the Yankees’ playoff run is over; if the Yankees win, a winner-takes-all Game 3 is scheduled for tomorrow.

Here’s how to tune in to Game 2 of the AL Wild Card series without cable.

Yankees vs. Red Sox Wild Card Game 2 will start at 6:08 p.m. ET tonight, Oct. 1.

If you aren’t ready to commit to a full-on subscription, you can try a Sling Orange Day Pass. Priced at $4.99, you’ll get 24 hours of access to all Sling TV Orange has to offer, including ESPN. A week pass, which would cover the full Wild Card, is $14.99.

If you don’t have cable, you’ll need a live TV streaming service to stream the Yankees’ Wild Card series for free. One option we love is DIRECTV, which comes with a five-day free trial and starts at $59.99/month for genre packs, with plenty of subscription options and genre packs that include ESPN.

All times below are listed in ET.

While Game 3 is currently scheduled for 6:08 p.m. ET tomorrow, the outcome of today’s Wild Card games may impact the start time.

*if necessary

Following an injury to Lucas Giolito, Brayan Bello will make his first career postseason start. In the regular season, Bello is 11-9 with a 3.35 ERA.

Carlos Rodón is starting for the Yankees
