Kevin Sorbo gained fame in the 1990s when he starred as the title character in the globally syndicated series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which ran from 1994-1999, but in a new interview, he claimed that acting work dried up for him once he publicly started discussing his Christian beliefs.
Speaking to Fox News yesterday (Aug. 21), Sorbo stated, “It was sad to me, you know, my manager and agent for so many years said that we can’t get you jobs anymore, work with you because of you being a Christian, being a conservative.”
He continued, “I almost had to laugh at that because it’s an industry that screams for tolerance, and yet it’s a one-way street. It screams for freedom of speech. But Hollywood’s a one-way street as well. And that’s just too bad, you know. But I love the industry. I love the movies and TV.”
Sorbo added, “It was really weird. I mean, here’s the thing. We have such a huge divide in our country right now, and it’s perpetuated by the mainstream media, perpetuated by movies, TV. I don’t harbor that kind of anger and hatred towards people. I have a different point of view.”
Sorbo’s so-called Christian views have led him to call Black protesters in Ferguson, Missouri “animals,” and consistently maintain that the Jan. 6 insurrection was carried out by “federal agents and ANTIFA.”

The irony is that Sorbo has been acting steadily since he first started discussing his Christian beliefs in 2014, he has dozens of credits to his name in the past nine years, and has told other outlets he’s plenty busy.
In April 2022, he told Movie Guide, “I will be shooting a western later in the year and a car racing movie that I am shooting in my home state of Minnesota in July. I am staying busy.”
Per his IMDb, Sorbo has 25 upcoming projects in the works. He last appeared in this year’s Amazon biopic Bezos, in which he played Leonard Riggio.
