Even Academy Award-winning actors have their fangirl moments.

Helen Mirren did not hold back when talking about her 1923 co-star Harrison Ford. Speaking to TheWrap, the actress was practically gushing as she joked about filming scenes in bed with her co-star.

“I had to be in the bed with him, you know. I’m dressed up to here,” she said. “But I’m lying there and I’m thinking, ‘I’m in bed with Harrison Ford.’ I was so excited, I can’t tell you. I had to pretend to be cool. Don’t tell him. Promise me.”

According to Mirren, Ford was “immensely generous and incredibly professional.”

The actors star opposite each other in Taylor Sheridan‘s prequel series that explores an older generation of Yellowstone‘s Dutton family as they live through Prohibition and the Great Depression. But they first appeared together as husband and wife in the 1986 drama The Mosquito Coast.

“He’s amazing. He really is. The stature he’s held, as a major, humongous movie star, all that time, at the same time as somebody who doesn’t love the limelight. He has this interior quality to him,” she said.

“Not remotely spoiled movie star, at all. I genuinely love him. If I wasn’t married …,” Mirren joked.

Mirren revealed in another interview with Deadline that she and Ford signed onto the show without reading a script or even knowing what character they would play.

“We were asked to participate, and you do what you do as an actor and say, ‘Lovely, sounds really interesting. I’d love to read the script?’ But there is no script,” she recalled.

According to the actress, Sheridan prefers to write towards the actors who will play the characters. Mirren confessed that it was “rather nerve-wracking” because she had never met Sheridan before, but she said they later shared a “great evening” where they got to know each other.

“It’s amazing writing, and what’s on the page, it arrives and it’s kind of perfect. It’s extraordinary,” she said.

Luckily, we will get to see more of this movie star duo as 1923 has already been renewed for a second season.

This isn’t the only star-studded project Paramount has in the works. Though Yellowstone has had some trouble recently, Sheridan has reportedly been working on another spinoff series with Matthew McConaughey set to lead.
