Critics are accusing Heather Rae Young of being “tone deaf” after the new mom detailed how her son’s first private flight went.
In a lengthy Instagram post Monday, the “Selling Sunset” star, 35, shared that her and husband Tarek El Moussa’s 3-month-old son, Tristan, did “such an incredible job” on his first flight, which happened to be on a private jet.
She then shared a “mom tip” with her three million followers, which she says helped prevent the newborn’s ears from popping.
“I breast fed him on the way up and then again on the way down to help with ear popping,” she wrote alongside a picture of her holding Tristan on the flight.
”It worked perfectly and then the rest of the flight he just giggled, played and looked around and was so happy & didn’t cry once… he loved the new environment ????????.”

While Young gushed about wanting to share her “proud mama moment,” several people thought she was insensitive to moms who don’t have the luxury of flying private with their babies.
“I love you and think you are an incredible woman, boss, mama and so many other things. You radiate positivity and inclusivity. BUT, this is tone def af. Private jet with help, is not an accomplishment. It’s straight privilege (and your hard work) but ZERO precent relatable,” wrote one critic.
“Of course it was GREAT. Try flying commercial ????,” added another, with a third writing, “Not all Mamas have the luxury of a private plane. But good for you and your ‘tips’ ????.”
“I saw your mom in law and Bob had a picture on the flight with your nanny and tristen [sic]. That sure helps when you are working to have help,” wrote a fourth fan.
“I wonder if it helps to fly private? ???? ???? ????,” added another user.
Page Six has reached out to Young’s rep for comment.
The real estate agent and Moussa, 41, tied the knot in October 2021 after two years together.
They announced in July 2022 that they were expecting their first baby together and welcomed Tristan the following January.
The “Flip or Flop” alum is also dad to daughter Taylor, 12, and son Brayden, 7, with whom he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall.
