Heartbreaking video shows tattoo artist Shani Louk joyfully dancing at an Israeli music festival before she was stripped naked and apparently murdered by Hamas terrorists – as it emerged that the 23-year-old once lived in Portland.
“These are probably the last moments of her before Hamas attacked music festival,” one user tweeted alongside the clip, which has been viewed more than 350,000 times as of Tuesday morning.
The Israeli-German woman is seen dancing joyously at the Tribe of Nova event in the Negev Desert as she is surrounded by fellow revelers a short time before the massacre, which has left at least 260 people dead.
Hours later, the terrorists paraded her naked corpse through the streets on a flatbed truck, while screaming, “Allahu Akbar!” or “God is great!”
Meanwhile, it was reported that Louk attended kindergarten at the Jewish Portland Academy.
Her teacher from that time, Devorah Spilman, told KOIN that her daughter showed her “the horrendous video” of Shani in Gaza — with terrorists parading her around, singing and dancing.
“And she said, ‘Mom, this girl is from Portland,’” she told the outlet.
“The thing about Shani, her sister Adi and their family is that they were an Intel family and an Israeli Intel family that came to Portland and brought this Israeli spirit with them,” Spilman told KOIN. “Shani was sweet, beautiful smile — just the sweetness in our classroom.”
She said the family later moved to Germany.
“It’s just breaking our hearts,” Spilman added about Louk’s death. “And when it comes so close to home I think everybody feels that this is not far away.”
Merrill Hendin, principal of the Portland school, expressed her sorrow about the senseless murder.
“We were terribly saddened at her tragic loss and our hearts go out to her family and to all of the people who were tragically taken,” she told the outlet.
Louk’s aunt, Orly Louk, told German news outlet Der Spiegel that her niece had grown up in Israel, but was a globetrotting pacifist who refused to take up the military service that is mandatory for Israelis.
She said the last photo Louk posted on social media was a selfie before she headed to the festival near Kibbutz Re’im.
“She often posted selfies on Instagram,” Orly Louk told the outlet as she held out hope that her niece is still alive.
Shani’s mom, Ricarda Louk, said her daughter was trying to leave the event when the terrorists launched their surprise attack in the Negev Desert.
“She was panicked a little bit, and she said she was going to take the car now and go to a safe location. And then we stopped talking and since then I didn’t hear anything from her anymore,” she said.
