NextImg:Heart-stopping moment mom pushing tot in stroller nearly struck by crashing car

Heart-pounding video footage shows an out-of-control flipping over on a UK sidewalk — landing just inches from a mom pushing her young daughter in a stroller.

The unidentified mom is seen pushing the stroller down a wide street in the Birmingham suburb of Olton on Saturday afternoon — suddenly pausing and steering the stroller to her left as she spots the vehicle careening straight toward them.

The black SUV slams into a pole for a crosswalk just feet away, sending it spinning onto its right side — right where the mom and her tot were.

The surveillance footage angle initially looks like the vehicle had flattened the pair in front of a store with Christmas decorations outside.

However, as onlookers rush over to help, the mom is seen running away from the crash with her daughter in her arms.

“The mum was in shock and her little girl was only aged around two,” a store worker who witnessed the near-miss told the local outlet BirminghamLive. “It was a terrible crash.”

The tot and the female driver of the wrecked car were taken to Heartlands Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The witness said the child may have suffered a broken leg.

A mother is seen pushing her daughter’s stroller moments before a near-catastrophe Saturday.
A black SUV is seen in the video jumping the curb and heading directly toward the mom.
The out-of-control vehicle struck a lamppost and flipped over, nearly crushing the mom and baby.
The mother was able to pull the stroller out of the way, but her toddler daughter still suffered an injury.

The mother was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries and did not require hospitalization, according to an ambulance service spokesperson.

It was not immediately known what caused the driver to lose control of the SUV, but police said no arrests have been made.
