The Television Critics Association (TCA) announced the winners of the 2025 TCA Awards today, honoring the outstanding programming that dazzled TV fans this past year. HBO Max‘s breakthrough hit drama The Pitt swept this year’s TCAs, taking home four awards, including the coveted Program of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Drama, Outstanding New Program, and an individual prize for Noah Wyle in Individual Achievement in Drama.
Other noteworthy honorees include Netflix‘s groundbreaking limited series Adolescence, Apple TV+‘s witty new comedy series The Studio, Peacock‘s beloved reality TV show The Traitors, and Somebody Somewhere star Bridget Everett.
Matlock star Kathy Bates was awarded the organization’s prestigious Career Achievement honor for her long and ongoing career of dazzling onscreen performances. Bates said, “Your recognition means the world to me, and I’m grateful to all of the TCA members for this incredible honor. Your support and dedication to the television industry are invaluable, and I am truly humbled by your acknowledgment.”
Sesame Street not only took home its fourth Outstanding Achievement in Children’s Programming prize, but TCA’s highest honor, the Heritage Award. In his acceptance speech on behalf of the show, Elmo said, “Thank you, TCA. You know, you’re some of our favorite letters on Sesame Street. We’re gonna put this award on a shelf in Hooper’s Store for everyone to see. Oh, Elmo hopes the Cookie Monster doesn’t try to eat it, though! Thank you, TCA. Elmo loves you.”
2025 marks the 41st Television Critics Association Awards. Last year’s big winners, Shogun (and Individual Achievement in Drama winner Anna Sawai), Hacks (and Individual Achievement in Comedy winner Jean Smart), and Baby Reindeer went on to dominate their respective categories at the 2024 Emmys. Will the same be true of The Pitt, The Studio, and Adolescence?
