A tsunami? Sure, why not! How else could we end the first (and possibly only) season of ABC’s best unserious dramedy, Doctor Odyssey?
16 episodes of shark attacks, threesomes, pregnancy scares — and real pregnancies — have all led to this moment as The Odyssey sets out on the first of its two-part final voyage of Season 1. It’s going to be a doozy.
After Episode 16 (“Double-Booked”) ended with Dr. Max (Joshua Jackson) confessing that he is in love with Avery (Phillipa Soo) with just weeks left to go until she heads off to medical school, any fan with half a brain could see this would go over like a lead balloon in the final episodes. As for how Avery will react — i.e. will she make a similar admission back or will she flee the ship to get away from this love-bombing weirdo — that is still to be determined. Although, a description for Episode 17, “The Wave,” makes us think it might be closer to the ladder than the former. We’ll just have to see when this week’s episode airs.
Here’s everything you need to know about Doctor Odyssey Episode 17, including when it airs, how to watch, and who is guest starring for this big finale…
Yes, there is a brand new episode of Doctor Odyssey on tonight. The new episode airs on ABC at 9 p.m. local and drops on Hulu the next day.
If you have cable or a live TV subscription, you can always turn on your TV just before 9 p.m. and tune into ABC for the new episode.
No cable? No time to watch live? No sweat! New episodes of Doctor Odyssey, including “The Wave,” upload to Hulu the next morning at 3:01 a.m. or 5:00 a.m. You will need to have a Hulu subscription, which can be purchased for as low as $9.99 a month (or $99.99 per year) for an ad-supported option. Plans on the higher end go all the way up to $95.99 per month for the Hulu + Live TV with Disney+ and ESPN+ bundle.
A tsunami is coming. Expect the unexpected in part one of the dramatic two-part finale. “After Max’s declaration fractures his relationship with Avery, he leaves the ship and finds himself caught in an earthquake, which triggers a tsunami warning. With The Odyssey forced to leave port, Max races to return before it’s too late,” a description reads.
Thanks to promotional photos, we know that Parks and Recreation alum Jim O’Heir is among a trio of actors boarding The Odyssey for the beginning of the end. No word yet on who he is playing but it looks like as though he may be a guest on the ship who goes sightseeing with other passengers. Excited to see Gary Jerry Larry Terry Gergich back on our screens!
