While most consumers would associate the green bear with a green apple, lime or even watermelon flavor, in most places, the green Goldbear is actually strawberry flavored.
Furthermore, they also learned that Hans Riegel, who established the company in 1920, named Haribo by taking the first two letters of his first name, last name and the city where he was born, namely Bonn, Germany.
The Post has contacted Haribo for comment.
But it’s the surprising flavor of the green gummy bear that had social media on a sugar high.
