NextImg:‘Hard Knocks’ trying to get Aaron Rodgers ‘a Nobel Peace Prize’: Mike Francesa

Mike Francesa thinks HBO’s “Hard Knocks” lionization of Aaron Rodgers is a little much.

On Monday, Francesa joined several shows in-studio at Barstool Sports, where his son, Harrison, is an intern.

On “Picks Central,” Francesa was criticizing Jets head coach Robert Saleh for having once said that the best-coached teams “coach themselves,” opining that Bill Parcells or Bill Belichick would never relegate their authority like that.

Barstool host Marty Mush interjected that Aaron Rodgers is effectively the coach of the Jets, which set Francesa into a tizzy about the lengths to which “Hard Knocks” is going to present the quarterback as a great human being.

“That show has been staged to show Aaron — they’ve been trying to get Aaron a Nobel Peace Prize,” Francesa quipped.

“It’s just ridiculous. They got him [approaching younger players] like Hey, you want to go to lunch, buddy? I mean, shut up. This is so staged it’s ridiculous. What are they trying to get him? He has every award. He doesn’t need need any more awards.”

Rodgers was the clear star of the season’s first episode.

Mike Francesa made fun of HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ for going out of its way to valorize Aaron Rodgers.

“He’s obviously the best quarterback I’ve ever had on my team,” coach Robert Saleh said of Rodgers in the first episode of the show.

The show also featured an interaction between Rodgers and narrator Liev Schrieber.

“You made a lot of New Yorkers very happy,” Schreiber said.

“So far,” Rodgers answered.

In the second episode, Rodgers was wowed by a card trick performed by mentalist Oz Pearlman.

As The Post’s Brian Costello first reported, Rodgers will be making his Jets debut in the team’s preseason game against the Giants on Saturday.
