Surprise! Halle Bailey has given birth to her first child.
The “Little Mermaid” star announced the arrival of her baby boy, named Halo, via an Instagram post Saturday night that showed herself holding her little boy’s hand.
A gold bracelet with “Halo” etched on it around the newborn’s wrist confirmed his name.
“even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo ???????????? ✨,” she gushed in the caption.
“the world is desperate to know you ????????♥️.”
Page Six has reached out to Bailey’s reps for comment.
The actress never confirmed her pregnancy despite months of speculation, hence her little joke at the end of her announcement.
She even told fans to “leave [her] alone” in a social media video she shared in November 2023 after someone commented that she has “pregnancy nose.”
The predictions came to a head in September 2023 when Bailey, 23, attended the MTV VMAs in a flowing orange dress that hid her stomach.
“Halle stayed away from the pink carpet so she would not be photographed, and when she was inside, she was very mindful in the way she gave hugs, and who she gave them to,” an insider told Page Six at the time.
“The orange dress flow was an indicator she was trying to hide,” the source continued. “She would keep her distance when someone got too close, and she gave out more handshakes than her [usual] enduring embraces.”
Social media users speculated about the outfit choice via Twitter.
“It’s none of our business but that dress … made it too obvious.,” one fan tweeted of the halter gown after the singer presented an award onstage with sister Chloe Bailey.
Others called her out for seemingly editing Instagram photos of the ensemble.
Halle continued to cover up on the platform in the weeks that followed, from posing in creative angles to wearing blazers.

The rumors kicked off in August when she made a brief appearance in the background of DDG’s livestream with what many guessed to be a baby bump.
Halle and the rapper, 26, made their romance Instagram-official in March 2022 after DDG slid into her DMs.
The couple made their red carpet debut at the BET Awards three months later, with Halle going on to tell Essence how they met.
“I grew up being on YouTube and would always see the young Black creators and was constantly inspired by them. He was one of them,” Halle said in the August interview. “Coincidentally he messaged me — and the rest is history.”
