A grandfather was sucker-punched in the face while pushing his 10-month-old grandchild in a stroller through an upscale California neighborhood outside Los Angeles.
The unsuspecting grandfather was crossing an intersection in Calabasas when he was suddenly approached by a man wearing a backward baseball cap, according to security footage of the random attack.
Seconds later, without warning, the suspect can be seen quickly winding back his arm and punching the side of the grandad’s face at around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to KTLA.
The grandfather can be seen gripping the stroller’s handlebars tightly as his body sways against the impact, ultimately taking him and the stroller to the ground.
The man quickly hops into his car and drives away while the man and his grandchild flail on the ground for a few moments.
Witnesses said the baby and the victim were not seriously injured, according to KTLA.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified the vehicle to be a silver 2005 Honda Odyssey with Nevada license plates.
A neighbor, Mary Steele, said the victim is a “very nice community member” who has a “beautiful home.”
“People know who he is and the baby is an innocent victim,” she told KTLA.
The attacker was still at large on Wednesday.
