Republican Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez speculated that the latest charges against embattled Hunter Biden are “just the tip of the iceberg” – and accused President Biden of lying “to the American people for 40 years.”
“This is part of the Biden family criminal enterprise…we need to keep following this,” the Florida congressman told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo Friday morning of the new allegations that Hunter Biden dodged over $1 million in taxes while splashing out on sex workers and more during a four-year period.
The 53-year-old first son was indicted on nine charges in California Thursday – including three felonies – in connection with what Special Counsel David Weiss called a “four-year scheme to not pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes.”
“It may be very difficult for him to show and try to explain where all this money came from, why did all this money come to him, what in fact did all this money go to,” Gimenez continued.
“The more that he talks, the more avenues will now be open for additional investigation. I know we’re just hitting the tip of the iceberg here. I don’t think we’ve gotten to the bottom yet,” he said.
If convicted, Hunter Biden faces up to 17 years behind bars.
Gimenez – who made headlines last week when he demanded answers about the supposedly “growing trend” of Chinese nationals entering the US illegally – went on to demand that President Biden come clean about his own alleged connections to his ne’er-do-well son’s business dealings.
“I think Joe Biden is the brand. And the only reason Hunter Biden was making all this money that he had to evade taxes for was because his father was the vice president of the United States [at the time],” Gimenez explained.
“For Joe Biden to blatantly lie to the American people and say that he had no idea what his son’s business interests were…we all know that’s a blatant lie,” he continued, citing reported evidence that the elder Biden, 81, met with Hunter’s business associates “dozens of times.”
“The president of the United States has been lying to the American people for 40 years. This is nothing new…this is what he does and what he has done for his entire political career,” Gimenez scoffed.
The bombshell indictment on Thursday detailed how Hunter allegedly “drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature, in short, everything but his taxes,” the documents viewed by The Post showed.
One particularly damning accusation stated that Hunter paid $27,000 to a porn site – which accounted for a fifth of all the expenses on that particular business line of credit.
The beleaguered first son is already staring down three felony charges related to false statements he made when purchasing a firearm.
The new criminal case comes as House Republicans prepare to authorize an impeachment into President Biden for alleged corruption.
