She’s still got that Markle Sparkle.
Meghan Markle is set to be awarded the 2023 Women of Vision Award next month — and it will be presented to her by none other than Gloria Steinem.
The award is bestowed by the Ms. Foundation, a Brooklyn-based organization that “works to bring attention to the real challenges facing women, especially women of color and low-income women who are living in poverty” and advocates for policy changes at both a statewide and national level.
The Ms. Foundation announced that Markle will be receiving the award “for her global advocacy to empower and advocate on behalf of women and girls.”
“We are thrilled to announce this year’s honorees for the Women of Vision Awards and to celebrate 50 years of progress and power,” Teresa C. Younger, president and CEO of the Ms. Foundation, said in a statement.
Markle is not the only woman being honored with the award — she will also be joined by Wanda Irving, the co-founder of Dr. Shalon’s Maternal Action Project; Kimberly Inez McGuire, the executive director of URGE; and La Tosha Brown, political strategist and co-founder of Black Voters Matter.
“Meghan, LaTosha, Wanda, Kimberly, Olivia and Rebekah are incredible leaders and we are grateful to be able to shine a light on their many accomplishments and tireless work on behalf of gender and racial equity across the country and the world,” Younger added.
Famed feminist Steinem is a “founding mother” of the Ms. Foundation.
The Post reached out to reps for Markle, Steinem and the Ms. Foundation for comment.
Some of the award’s previous honorees include former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, famed director Ava DuVernay and fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.
The award ceremony is set to take place on May 16 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.
Over the past few years, Steinem and Markle have built quite a friendship. They first connected in 2020, when Markle learned that they were both quarantining in Montecito, California.
The Duchess of Sussex reached out to the women’s rights activist to see if she wanted to help her make calls to thank voting registration organizers, according to Vogue.
Steinem said yes and they continued to have a relationship.
“I’m not an expert on the media, but it seems to me that she is different from the picture of her in the media,” Steinem told People last year about Markle. “She’s smart and funny and devoted to social issues.”
This news comes just days after it was announced that Markle would also be honored at the 48th annual Gracie Awards, which recognize women’s work in media and entertainment, for her “Archetypes” podcast.
In 2020, Markle and her husband Prince Harry launched The Archewell Foundation, and they have worked with many women’s charities like Moms First and the National Women’s Law Center.
Markle is set to accept the 2023 Women of Vision Award only ten days after King Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey, which takes place on May 6.
It has yet to be announced whether or not Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, will be attending the royal coronation, especially after the January release of Harry’s explosive tell-all memoir, “Spare,” and their Netflix docuseries, “Harry & Meghan.”
In the book, he alleged that his older brother, Prince William, physically attacked him and even branded him as his “arch-nemesis.”
The Prince also claimed that his father, King Charles, jokingly called him a “spare” on the day he was born.
He even wrote that his dad was jealous of both Markle and Princess Kate Middleton’s popularity in the country.
