The Giants’ Wink Martindale saga is over.
The team announced Wednesday afternoon that it has “mutually agreed to part ways” with the defensive coordinator, two days after word got out that Martindale was planning to resign.
However, as of Tuesday evening, Martindale hadn’t formally resigned from his post.
Martindale, who spent two seasons as the Giants’ defensive coordinator under head coach Brian Daboll, stormed out of the team’s facility Monday after cursing out Daboll for firing confidant Drew Wilkins, the outside linebackers coach, and Wilkins’ younger brother Kevin, a defensive assistant, The Post’s Paul Schwartz reported.
Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported in late November that Daboll and Martindale were in a “bad place” and that the duo could split by season’s end.
