NextImg:Giants vs. Eagles prediction: NFL Week 18 picks, odds

The road to a second consecutive NFC East title for the Eagles got bumpy in the final month of the season.

They owned a 10-1 record after beating Buffalo in overtime during Thanksgiving weekend and were on their way to potentially the top seed in the NFC.

However, five games later and four losses during that stretch, last season’s Super Bowl runner-up is on the verge of being on the road in the first round of the playoffs.

Philadelphia needs a win on Sunday over the rival Giants at MetLife Stadium plus a Dallas loss at Washington to clinch the NFC East crown.

The only win for the Eagles in the past five weeks came against the Giants on Christmas, 33-25, at Lincoln Financial Field.

Philadelphia failed to cash as 14-point favorites — the Eagles last covered the spread in their Super Bowl rematch at Kansas City in Week 11.

The Giants lost another heartbreaker last Sunday, a 26-25 setback to the Rams, but New York managed to cover the number for the fifth time in six games.

In fact, the Giants own a 4-0-1 record against the spread in their past five home games.

Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw for a season-high 319 yards and a touchdown against the Rams but couldn’t convert the game-winning 2-point conversion to running back Saquon Barkley in the final minute of play.

The Eagles haven’t been right for over a month, and there’s no reason to think, even laying a short number, that they will just bounce back here.

The Giants would love to finish the season on a high note and continue to cover the spread.

The play: Giants +5.5.
