NextImg:Giants pass rushers aren’t afraid to show off their wheels

Observations from the Giants’ training camp practice on Thursday.

Rookie Abdul Carter is not only an edge rusher.

On a handoff to another rookie, Cam Skattebo, Carter was in the backfield so quickly it would have been a big loss.

The play continued, but Carter raised his hand in celebration anyway.

The Giants expect to have a fearsome pass rush, but they are not allowed to get a head start.

Twice, players on defense pointed across the line of scrimmage as a penalty flag was thrown, accusing the offensive line of false start penalties. Twice, the ruling was a penalty on the defense.

Jaxson Dart has wheels.

He had a few rough moments passing the ball — he was intercepted by Tre Hawkins and fired one off the hands of Dante Miller — but he made a smart decision amid pressure and sped up the middle on a scramble that likely would have resulted in a touchdown.

WR Jalin Hyatt late in practice was on the side, with trainers attending to his left leg. He did not have to leave the field, though. LT Andrew Thomas remains on IR.
