LANDOVER, Md. — The byproduct of all that intensive work in the spring and training camp designed to get Jaxson Dart ready to play might be unveiled on Sunday, as the rookie could get on the field at Northwest Stadium in packages especially designed for him, The Post confirmed.

Russell Wilson will start the game and he might take every snap at quarterback for the Giants as they open their season against the Commanders.

Dart as the backup quarterback — veteran Jameis Winston will be No. 3, used only in an emergency situation — could see some action, if head coach Brian Daboll sees an opening to get Dart in the game.

Specially designed packages for quarterbacks usually include heavy doses of running plays, providing a change-up for the opposing defense to consider.

At the very least, having the 22-year old Dart in the game plan — how much or how little is yet to be determined — gives the Commanders coaching staff something to think about.

Multiple reports indicate Washington this past week prepared to see Dart at some point in the game.

The Giants traded back up into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to select Dart with the 25th overall pick.

Daboll back in the spring announced that Wilson was the starting quarterback and never came off that stance.

Wilson, 36, took the bulk of the snaps with the starters in training camp, with Dart receiving the majority of the second-team reps. Dart flourished in the preseason, completing 32 of 47 passes for 372 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Daboll frequently surprised Dart by thrusting him into situations that were not pre-planned, such as rushing him onto the field in a two-minute drill or cutting out the communications device in Dart’s headset in his first preseason start, forcing the rookie to improvise.

Daboll liked what he saw far more often than not and that could lead to the insertion of Dart into the season opener.
