The Giants added a pair of defensive backs on the waiver wire Wednesday, picking up safety Beau Brade from the Ravens and cornerback Rico Payton from the Saints.
Both players, notably, also have extensive special teams experience.
Brade, a Maryland product, played 11 games for Baltimore last season after signing as an undrafted free agent.
Payton, 25, featured in 16 games for New Orleans and was also undrafted.
The Giants had seven defensive backs on their roster after Monday’s cut down day, and it was presumed they would use waivers to add depth.

The corresponding moves to keep the roster at 53 are not yet known.
Running back Dante Miller and defensive tackle Elijah Chatman, both of whom were cut from the 53-man roster Monday, also signed with the practice squad, per The Athletic.
The Giants, however, lost quarterback Tommy DeVito to the Patriots on waivers.
