NextImg:Giannis Antetokounmpo’s viral Warriors tease has a video twist

Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.

A viral video appears to show Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo smiling while pondering the idea of joining the Warriors.

However, a fan account on Twitter (@GiannisMuse) claims the clip of Antetokounmpo, which appears to be from a livestream on social media, is photoshopped.

The video of the two-time MVP, posted on TikTok by user “qolua,” apparently shows only a portion of a livestream, where Antetokounmpo was asked about joining the Warriors following the Milwaukee’s first-round playoff ouster by the Heat.

Antetokounmpo can be seen smiling while telling someone off-camera: “Somebody said please come to the Warriors.”

The 28-year-old then smiled while shaking his head and said, “Hey, hey, hey man” before the clip cuts out.

The user (@GiannisMuse) shared another clip of Antetokounmpo that shows the NBA champion saying “nah” after appearing to tease the idea of joining Golden State.

It appears as though some people fell for a shortened version of the video that was taken out of context.

Twitter and TikTok users called out the viral clip for “cutting off the part where [Antetokounmpo] says ‘nah.'”

“Show the full vid and what he said after that,” one user wrote under the clip shared by the popular NBA Twitter account, “NBA Central.”

The 28-year-old Antetokounmpo has not yet publicly addressed the buzz.

The Greek Freak has three years, including a player option, left on his $228 million contract.

The moment came shortly after he thanked Bucks fans following his 10th NBA season with Milwaukee, and said “see you soon” in a post on Twitter.

“Blessed to have played my 10th NBA season,” he wrote on Wednesday. “To my Bucks fans and fans all around the world, THANK YOU. Thank you for your love and support.

“It’s time to get better and ready for year 11! See you soon.”

The Bucks were eliminated from the playoffs by the Heat after a 128-126 overtime loss in Game 5 of their first-round series.

Shortly after, the Bucks fired their head coach Mike Budenholzer after five seasons and an NBA championship in 2021.

The early elimination and new head coach search has raised questions about Antetokounmpo’s future with Milwaukee and its roster.

During an appearance on “First Take,” following Milwaukee’s playoff ouster, ESPN senior NBA writer Brian Windhorst said the league is monitoring the Bucks’ situation this offseason — specifically naming the Knicks — due to “uncertainty” surrounding Antetokounmpo, who is up for a contract extension in September.

“The New York Knicks for example, they have got 97 percent of their attention on the Miami Heat [in the Eastern Conference semifinals playoff series], and three percent of their attention on Milwaukee,” Windhorst said, before he asked repeatedly: “What’s going on over there?”

Windhorst also suggested that Antetokounmpo could wait and see if the Bucks resign free agent veterans Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton — but questioned if Milwaukee will have the capital.

The team conducted an interview with University of Houston coach Kelvin Sampson for its head coach vacancy, ESPN reported on Thursday.

Sampson spent six seasons as an NBA assistant coach — three with the Bucks and three with the Rockets — before returning to college basketball in 2014 to coach Houston.

It could be a rocky offseason for the Bucks front office as the team is in the luxury tax repeater for the first time with two notable free agents.
