San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle has been fined for wearing a “F–k Dallas” T-shirt during the team’s win over the Dallas Cowboys during Week 5, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Fowled reported that Kittle was fined $13,659 for what the NFL is referring to as “use of abusive language on the T-shirt he wore under his uniform against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.”
In the victory, where the 49ers dominated Dallas 42-10, Kittle caught three passes — all of them touchdowns — for 67 yards.
All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons also discussed Kittle wearing the shirt following the loss on his show “The Edge with Micah Parsons.”
“Kittle’s my guy, but [I’m gonna] say this: laugh now, cry later,” Parsons warned Kittle on Monday’s episode. “We got something for that, just trust. If we see them again, just trust. And we gonna put it just like that. I ain’t gonna put too much on it. You gonna make it personal? We can make it personal, that’s cool.”
Kittle later acknowledged that he’d 100 percent wear the shirt again while also admitting a fine was expected in his future.
“Probably get a fine,” he said, according to the Associated Press. “Wore a personalized T-shirt. Maybe an inappropriate word. It is what it is. It’s a decision I made. If they want to fine me, they fine me.”
Asked if the shirt was worth the then forthcoming fine, he added, “100 percent. I’d do it again.”
The 49ers are one of two undefeated NFL teams remaining at 5-0, only matched by the defending conference champion Eagles.
The two will face off on Dec. 3 in Philadelphia.
The Cowboys are 3-2 and second in the NFC East, two games behind the Eagles.
This season, Kittle has 17 catches for 215 yards, and the three touchdowns he scored on Dallas were his first three of the year.
