NextImg:Frowning Garfield toy listening to sad music is TikTok’s new favorite relatable influencer

There’s a new unexpected influencer taking over TikTok, and people are finding him to be a taste of reality on the platform.

TikTok account @wonkygarfield features videos of a sad-looking Garfield cat toy listening to gloomy music through wired headphones and reveling in sorrow.

Wonky Garfield quickly garnered millions of views and a large following; With the first video posted on July 29, the account already amassed 4.9 million likes and 146,900 followers.

Garfield the character is widely known as a lazy and cynical orange tabby cat who loves sleeping and lasagna and hates Mondays — traits that many people seem to find relatable.

The videos follow the same cycle, with Garfield the toy propped up with headphones in his ears among different backgrounds while sad music plays in the background.

“I hate Mondays,” was a common Garfield quote.

Captions on the individual videos share what Garfield has been going through that day — such as “Garfield’s had a long day today and came home to listen to his [favorite] song,” “Garfield woke up today and now he’s sad” and “Garfield needed a break.”

The creator has only posted 26 videos, but the comments are already filled with fans requesting songs for the toy to listen to and saying that they resonate with Garfield’s apparent miseries.

“Garfield, I feel you,” one person wrote.

“He’s so me,” another said.

“IDK if this acc is js silly Garfield or a reflection of what you’re going through behind a Garfield plush,” someone noted.

“God this account is the most relatable thing I’ve ever come in contact with thank you,” a comment read.

“How I feel when I know I have work in a few hours,” a user commented.

“This keeps me going, if Garfield can then I can,” one said.
