The fallout over leaked messages allegedly from Formula 1’s Christian Horner to a female employee has thrown his marriage to former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell “in question,” according to a new report.
The Red Bull Racing principal, 50, found himself at the center of controversy yet again Thursday — one day after he had been cleared of misconduct following accusations of inappropriate behavior — when screenshots of purported exchanges between Horner and a female employee were emailed anonymously to influential figures in the sport.
Friends of the couple, who wed in 2015, relayed to the Daily Mail on Thursday how the “marriage is now in question for the first time” in the wake of recent developments.
“The tears stopped when the judgment came in on Wednesday, now they absolutely will have started again,” one source told the outlet.
“This will destroy her. All along Christian promised there was nothing in it.”
Horner was photographed Friday in Bahrain ahead of Saturday’s Grand Prix, with the Daily Mail reporting Friday that Halliwell, 51, also touched down in the Middle East, “having taken off before the ‘leaked texts’ email.”
The Sun reported Thursday that some of the apparent texts “are suggestive in nature.”
The woman in question allegedly asked Horner, “How would you feel if your wife Geri Halliwell did this?” according to The Sun.
The female employee is said to have worked with Horner at Red Bul racing’s Milton Keynes headquarters.
“I won’t comment on anonymous speculation, but to reiterate, I have always denied the allegations,” Horner said in a statement Thursday.
“I respected the integrity of the independent investigation and fully cooperated with it every step of the way,” Horner said. “It was a thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister and it has concluded, dismissing the complaint made. I remain fully focused on the start of the season.”
Horner has been the team principal for Red Bull since 2005.
Reps for Halliwell did not immediately return The Post’s request for comment.
