The former home of the iconic French artist Henri Matisse has hit the market for $2.69 million.

Located in Nice, France, on the stunning French Riviera, the two-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment occupies more than 1,700 square feet.

Matisse has long been regarded, along with Pablo Picasso, as one of the the most influential artists of the 20th century — one of the figures who best helped define the revolutionary developments in the visual arts.

He lived in the apartment, located on a high floor of the famous Régina in Cimiez, for 10 years.

Built in 1897, the flat was fairly new when Matisse lived there.

Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood’s historic district, the unit once also housed the painter’s studio.

The unit looks out to wide views.
