Below Deck alum Kate Chastain has officially shut down the rumors surrounding her son’s recent birth.

Chastain announced her son Sullivan Cay’s birth just last week, after which Below Deck fans began speculating that he resembled her co-star, Chef Ben Robinson.

“For the record, the only thing this handsome guy has in common with any chef is the tendency to get emotional around meal times,” she tweeted, along with a picture of Sullivan. She also shared a screenshot of the tweet to her Instagram story.

Though she did share moments from her pregnancy on social media, the reality star has famously remained tight-lipped about who the father could be. Soon after she announced her pregnancy in December, she told Andy Cohen, “I’m doing it solo and perhaps with some help,” Kate said. “But I’m happy to do it alone.”

Fans flooded the comments of Chastain’s post when she announced Sullivan’s birth. “There is no test result in this world that could convince me that isn’t Ben’s child,” one person commented.

“Why does this baby look like a mini chef Ben lol,” someone else wrote.

The fans’ speculation of the pair likely stems from the fact that the reality stars have openly talked about their romantic past, though they have since remained friends. In 2021, Robinson said he had “no regrets” of hooking up with Chastain, though he went on to say that she is “very good friends” with his girlfriend Kiara Cabral. Robinson and Cabral have been together since 2020.

Robinson shared a photo of himself and Chastain in April, calling her his “great friend.”

“Who knew Kate Chastain and I would be the same weight one day… But to be fair I have been hitting the gym!” he wrote in the caption. “I am so proud of who you have become and the mother you will soon be.”

Chastain left Below Deck in 2020 after six seasons on the nautical reality show, though she has remained involved with the franchise throughout the years.
