A Florida mother who believed she was “God” allegedly confessed to strangling to death her 13-year-old son because she wanted to spare him from the devil, court records said.

Jasmin Kenney was arrested Monday after allegedly throttling her son on his bed at the family’s home in Osceola County. The 37-year-old mom called herself “Yahweh” — meaning “God” in Hebrew, according to the court records.

While in custody, Kennedy was asked by detectives if she knew why she was being interviewed. Kennedy said “she was being questioned due to her sending her son home,” court documents obtained by WFTV stated.

When asked to clarify her comments about her son, Kennedy was quoted as saying that she “spared him from the devil.”

Detectives also noted that the mom-of-two called herself “Yahweh,” which is translated from Hebrew as “God.”

Kennedy is charged with premeditated first-degree murder, domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated child abuse and child neglect.

A judge on Tuesday ordered the woman held without bond.

The tragedy unfolded when sheriff’s deputies received a 911 call around 7:30 a.m. Monday and raced to a home in St. Cloud to find Kennedy’s 13-year-old child dead on a bed.

Kennedy “spontaneously” admitted to first responders that she had choked her son, Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said during a news conference.

Kennedy shared the home with her mother, the mother’s boyfriend and her own two sons, ages 5 and 13.

The woman’s younger child slept on the top bunk above his brother and was present during the deadly attack, according to officials.

The youngster ran to get help, but by the time anyone in the home realized what was happening, the 13-year-old could not be saved.

Paramedics who were called to the home on Crosley Avenue discovered the teen lying face up on his bed. He died on the spot.

“It’s always a tragedy when someone so young is taken,” Lopez said. “Their life was just taken from them. It hits home, especially when you have children.”
