NextImg:Florence Pugh: I shaved my hair off to defy Hollywood expectations and ‘control my image’

This actress is addressing the buzz over her new haircut.

Florence Pugh shared the reasoning behind her shaved head in a new interview, telling the Radio Times — per the Daily Mail — that she wanted to take control of her image and remove “vanity” from the equation.

“I purposefully chose to look like that. I wanted vanity out of the picture,” the “Oppenheimer” actress, 27, told the publication.

Pugh went on to share “Hollywood is very glamorous” and she felt it is “hard for an audience to see past that.”

“Whenever I’ve not needed to be glam or have a full face of makeup, I fight to keep it that way,” she continued. “It helps the audience.”

“Vanity is gone,” Pugh added. “The only thing that people can look at then is your raw face.”

The “Don’t Worry Darling” star debuted her buzz cut look on the Met Gala 2023 red carpet earlier this year, shocking fans with her shaved black hairstyle.

While she went on to dye her strands pink — and rock a totally see-through dress — at Paris Fashion Week, Pugh switched up her hairstyle again at last week’s “Oppenheimer” premiere.

The actress still sported pink hair while helping co-star Emily Blunt avoid a wardrobe malfunction at a London photocall ahead of their film’s red carpet premiere, but a day later, her hair was dyed orange to match the movie’s poster.

We’re taking bets on what color Miss Flo chooses next.
