NextImg:Flight attendant reveals her ‘life-changing’ hotel hack: ‘She might actually be a genius’

Always follow your toes.

Flight attendants stay in so many hotels it can be hard to remember which accommodation is which.

Fortunately, one air hostess has discovered an inn-genious way to reorient themselves no matter where they are — and all it takes is a pair of shoes.

“[This hack] high key makes sense for someone who is in a million different hotel rooms per week,” Ally Rae Case wrote in the caption to the clip, which boasts over 500,000 views on TikTok.

“We’re in so many hotel rooms, like, how else can you remember,” Case declared. Stock.adobe.com

In the viral video, the crew member recounted how “when [her colleague] gets to her hotel room, she puts her shoes facing the direction of the elevator” so that she knows which way to exit.

The footage then pans to Case’s shoes pointing towards the hotel dumb waiters like a makeshift compass.

“We’re in so many hotel rooms, like, how else can you remember,” the stewardess declared.

TikTok fans were awestruck by the unorthodox wayfinding hack.

“She might actually be a genius,” gushed one commenter, while another wrote, “Dude, this is gonna change my life. I’m in hotels like 90% of the year. I go the wrong way all the time.”

“I’ve been disoriented for 38 years and finally someone tells me this!?” said a third.

Even fellow crewmembers were impressed with one exclaiming, “25 year airline pilot here….new life hack unlocked! Thanks!”

One flight attendant wrote, “THIS JUST CHANGED MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE THANK YOU!! Sincerely- a flight attendant who got lost in her SFO hotel this morning.”

The hack is just one of Case’s many videos detailing how flyers can make the friendly skies even friendlier.

Other tidbits she suggests in her clips include booking the first flight of the day to avoid delays and sitting towards the front of the plane to mitigate the effects of turbulence.

Case also warned travelers against leaving their luggage slip information out in the open as this can be very dangerous.

Instead, she suggested travelers flip their bag tag paper to the other side to conceal their contact info from prying eyes.
