It took Matt Rempe all of four seconds to introduce himself to the NHL.
The 6-foot-8-and-a-half forward, who became the first player in history to make his NHL debut in an outdoor game, dropped the gloves with Islanders heavyweight Matt Martin on his very first shift of the Rangers-Islanders Stadium Series matchup at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
After going punch-for-punch with Martin, Rempe threw his arms up repeatedly and incited the primarily blue-clad crowd to get loud — and they did.

Rempe, 21, earned just his second recall to the Rangers over the last week and a half since the organization drafted him 165th overall in 2020.
After the Rangers returned him to AHL Hartford, however, Blake Wheeler suffered a season-ending lower-body injury and he was called up again.
