Sophie Cunningham is keeping her spirits high — and dance moves on point — as she recovers from a season-ending injury.
In a video currently making the rounds on social media, the star Fever guard dances along to Renee Rapp’s track, “I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone,” in a tiny bikini with a brace wrapped around her leg.
The clip was posted weeks after Cunningham, 29, sustained an MCL tear in her right knee and underwent surgery.

She suffered the injury during an Aug. 17 clash against the Connecticut Sun. Cunningham had collided with guard Bria Hartley in the second quarter of an eventual 99-93 Fever win.
Cunningham opened up about the injury on an Aug. 20 installment of her “Show Me Something” podcast, dismissing the narrative that Hartley purposely tried to hurt her.
“I know Bria and I’m actually really good friends with Bria, and I have been waiting to get on the pod so we could talk about this because I didn’t want to tweet it out,” Cunningham said.
“I think that there was no ill intent. I think that it was a basketball play. I was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time. She fell. Like, there’s no way that she would go in there and potentially try to hurt me, and so I have nothing but love for Bria.”
Cunningham, who arrived in Indiana this offseason following a trade from the Phoenix Mercury, had been averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists this season before the injury.
The Fever have been plagued by injuries this season, with Sydney Colson (ACL tear) and Aari McDonald (broken foot) also done for the year.
Reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark suffered a groin injury on July 15 and has not suited up since. It remains to be seen when she’ll return to action with the WNBA playoffs on the horizon.
Indiana is currently 21-20 on the season.
