The Issue: The FBI’s seizure of Mayor Adams’ cellphones and tablet while probing his campaign funds.
There is no need to stop Mayor Adams on the street for his phones and tablet devices (“Feds zero in on texts suggesting Adams fast-tracked Turkish diplomatic headquarters,” Nov. 11).
The FBI has become too powerful in America and lacks accountability. America is becoming a police state, and citizens live in fear of a law-enforcement agency that is not held accountable for its actions.
The feds should have just met with him at City Hall instead.

Anyone who doesn’t recognize that the FBI’s probe into Adams’ campaign fundraising is a bold political hit job is oblivious to what’s been taking place in this country ever since Biden took office (“Are the feds targeting Eric Adams because he criticized Joe Biden?” Editorial, Nov. 11).
Adams dared to criticize the disastrous open-border policy of the corrupt and incompetent Biden administration, and retribution quickly came.
The administration’s unchecked weaponization of the FBI and Justice Department is a truly alarming situation that poses an existential threat to our democracy. America is better than this, and we need to put an end to this tyranny.

Is President Biden behind the investigation of Adams? While we still don’t know for certain, let’s examine Biden’s track record: The Squad and other left-leaning Democrats have shown an ability to influence his every decision, including pressuring him to ask for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Now the FBI is looking into Adams only because he’s had the courage to speak out against illegal immigrants pouring into our city at an unsustainable rate.
For anyone who thinks this investigation is just a coincidence, I have a piece of land in Gaza to sell you.

Similar to the intimidation tactics the Justice Department used to silence parents concerned about school curricula, the manner in which the FBI confiscated the electronics of Mayor Adams and his staff reeks of political meddling.
Adams’ comments on the migrant crisis have clearly ruffled the feathers of the Biden administration, and these strong-arm tactics are clear evidence of that.
Regardless of one’s political views, the blatant weaponization of law enforcement should be a major concern to everyone.

Does anyone still believe it’s a coincidence that the home of Adams’ campaign aide was raided at the same time he was boarding a plane to Washington, DC, to complain about illegal immigrants? The very public way it was done also leads me to believe that it’s payback.
It’s one thing for the Biden administration to do this to an opponent, but to do it to a member of Biden’s own party?
At this point, the Justice Department is no longer a credible federal agency. It has become Biden’s personal enforcer team.
This could backfire, however, if Adams is not guilty. If that’s the case, Adams should hit back. He could make a name for himself.

One silver lining in the FBI going after Adams is that it takes away some of the bureau’s attention from concerned parents at PTA meetings.
Biden has weaponized the FBI and Justice to hunt down and destroy anyone perceived to be a political threat, like Trump, instead of terrorists crossing the southern border.
Adams is correct in wanting the federal government to stop the invasion of illegal immigrants. However, Biden and the Democrats only see future supportive voters among them. It’s all about getting power and keeping it by any means necessary.
