Morgan Freeman debuted a new hairdo at the 2023 Oscars — and fans aren’t quite sure how to feel about it.

The 85-year-old actor shocked viewers as he waltzed across the stage alongside Margot Robbie with a freshly shaved head.

Despite being there to celebrate Warner Bros.’s 100th anniversary, fans couldn’t help but focus on the “Shawshank Redemption” star’s new look after rocking dreadlocks in an Instagram post just one week prior.

“morgan freeman was walking with white long locks just a minute ago how is he completely bald now,” one user wrote alongside a photo of the pair presenting.

“Morgan Freeman bald?!” someone else captioned a photo of a girl looking confused.

“Me when I saw bald Morgan Freeman,” a fourth person joked alongside a video of a woman gasping.

“Morgan freeman being bald and aging is giving me so much anxiety I wasn’t expecting to have,” another person tweeted.

However, others defended the change, writing, “Morgan Freeman looks great bald. Giving me hope when my time finally comes.”

Other eagle-eyed viewers noticed Freeman was wearing a black satin glove while holding on to Robbie on stage.

Despite some fans voicing concern for this health, other users pointed out that Freeman has been wearing a compression glove for comfort reasons since paralyzing his left hand in a near-fatal crash back in 2008.

The Oscar-winning actor was told his hand would improve but nearly 15 years later he still can’t wiggle his fingers.

“I suffered nerve damage, and it hasn’t gotten better,” he told People in 2010. “I can’t move it.”

He added, “If you don’t move your hand, it will swell up. Do you know you move your hand about a million times a day?”

A compression glove works by lightly squeezing the veins in one’s hand to support blood circulation and can even help to manage tingling, pain and swelling, according to Healthline.

Freeman also broke his left shoulder, arm and elbow in the accident.
